Here we have Minelabs Range of purpose built coils that suit all Equinox Metal detectors as well as the new XTerra Pro.
There's two brands manufacturing coils for the equinox range Minelab and Coiltek this listing is for Minelab Equinox coils only.
Whats the best Equinox Minelab Coil for me?
The 6 Equinox inch coil is aptly known as the "gold coil" in the prospecting world, this is your go to coil for getting in tight between rocks in a creek and between the junk in the field. When you run a small coil like this you don't need as much target separation in your equinox / xterra so you can drop that setting down to 3 or 4 which will put some power back into depth.
In terms of detecting for coils this little coil can get you really close to metal like playground supports and bridge beams while still pulling that nice high tone.
The next size is the 11 inch equinox coil - This coil comes with your detector stock for a reason, its the best all round balance between good coverage and depth while staying light and easy to swing. We recommend using this as your "patch finding" coil combing large areas and general detecting. You have a good balance between depth, sensitivity and ease of use.
Next in the Equinox Coil lineup is the 15 x 12 inch equinox coil by Minelab, this is your beach combing coil and deep relic coil. 15 inches of swing coverage is huge when relic hunting quite simply it means you can cover way more ground than with any sub 15 inch coil getting you to the next target quicker.
With larger coils comes a small tradeoff you will lose sensitivity to small targets at the surface when punching deeper which is why these coils are so good on the beach.
